My Review:

Fantastic! GIRL A is a standalone psychological thriller by Dan Scottow. I’ve seen this is his second release – I am going to be reading the first now though, what brilliant writing!

The writing style helped this rollercoaster story flow and all the dramatic, brilliant twists and turns meant I just couldn’t put it down. I was on tenterhooks all the way through and although I thought I had it all summed up, I didn’t. There were moments that I did not see coming right until the end.

I’m not going too much into the storyline as I think you need to just read what happens to fully get the impact of each revelation and dramatic moment. Main character Beth, well, she is really very interesting. I didn’t really like her but then again I didn’t hate her either, she is a great character to read about though, I was fully invested in what happened.

A book full of suspense, thrills and drama, I highly recommend for fans of psychological thrillers. I will keep a look out for future releases from this author, if this is anything to go by Dan Scottow will be a -must-read-author.

This is the story of Jemma and Sam. Two lost souls, desperately trying to find closure and happiness. When a chance meeting brings them together a friendship is formed, but the guards are up.

Will it finally be their turn for a happy ever after? Or will the secrets from their pasts prevent them from moving on?

Escape to Whitsborough Bay for an emotional, uplifting story of love and friendship from top 10 bestseller Jessica Redland.

This book was previously published as
Bear With Me.

My Review:

A gorgeous story of two people who have loved but had their hearts shattered and must overcome a lot of pain to move on.
A brilliant and captivating story written by a firm favourite of mine, Jessica Redland who never fails to create great characters, emotional issues, and lovely settings. The ups and downs in this story will have your emotions on a real rollercoaster. Moments of tragedy mixed with heart-warming scenes of hope and positivity.
Whilst the two main characters, Jemma and Sam, meet and forge a great friendship, both realise that what they need to do is take care of their own pain and past experiences. With many false starts, Jemma and Sam do start to help each other, heal themselves and move forward – with everything in life the timing is important and throughout this book it isn’t always quite right.
There were times I could’ve just had seriously stern words with Jemma – she really didn’t make the right choices at times! Sam, I could empathise with completely, but I wanted to pull him out of his own head and get him back in the real world.
You will love both characters, you will want to take them and make them feel better because they both deserve to for different reasons. With some brilliant additional characters who will make you laugh, and keep you on your toes, this book is a smasher.
I couldn’t put this one down, perfect to cosy up and get stuck into. Highly recommended.

My Review:

Dana, Logan, and their four-year-old daughter Kelsey attend a family BBQ.  Tragedy occurs when Kelsey’s favourite bear goes missing and the family must keep going despite Dana’s world blowing apart around her and her realising, she doesn’t know who she is able to trust.

From the start, the book is an emotive read. It is very dramatic – so much relationship, friendship and family drama in one book. I will say I was kept interested because I wanted to see how it all would turn out.

I found the book is well paced and quick to read, it held my attention well enough to power through in one sitting.

Whilst I didn’t personally gel with the characters, I could feel for Dana and how everyone else was towards her. The point is that you aren’t supposed to like all the characters I guess, so in that the author has done well. I think the dislike of characters means you are suspicious of them all, which for this style of book is great.

Although it wouldn’t be something I would read again, as a psychological thriller I felt it delivered some interesting twists along the way.

My Review:
Looking for a perfect country escape in book form? This is it! Beautiful, scenic location, with kind caring characters who add to the small village like charm. With mystery, intrigue and rediscovering yourself at the heart of this story, I can’t tell you how much I adored this.

I was absolutely enthralled from the start; I didn’t want to put it down for a second. Having read books by Katie before, I was expecting a wonderful storyline and a character I would really take a shine to and she didn’t disappoint.

Amelia hasn’t returned to Meadow Farmhouse for quite some time; and the death of her Great Aunt Vera means she is now the owner. Leaving her home in Paris, Amelia plans on sorting out the bits and pieces before selling it on…to her this isn’t home, just somewhere she grew up. But returning starts to reveal secrets that Amelia had no idea about, soon she’s keen to find answers. Returning to Meadow Farmhouse also means confronting someone from her past, her former love, Adam. Unsure of his reaction or how she may feel, could it be possible she’d manage to avoid him completely.

As she confronts the ghosts of her past, the more she starts to feel that she has come home and maybe it is somewhere she could belong.

Amelia is a lovely character, she is determined, strong willed but has had a difficult upbringing. She feels like she doesn’t belong, and it takes a journey for her to realise the friends she had aren’t the genuine kind and she has to forgive the mistakes people make when they are hurting themselves. She learns that home is always where your heart is.

Warm and cosy, leaving you happy and satisfied – an ideal book for shutting out the world.

Author Info:

KATIE GINGER lives by the sea in the south-east of England, and apart from holidays to very hot places where you can sit by a pool and drink cocktails as big as your head, she wouldn’t really want to be anywhere else. My Review:

I am a big fan of Holly Martin and this book is another smash! An absolute pleasure to be back with sisters Skye, Aria and Clover. You may have read the previous two books about these ladies so will enjoy the catch up of familiar faces but please be assured you can read this as a standalone. Enough detail is included to bring you up to speed but not too much for those that have read to feel like it’s repetitive.
I couldn’t read this one fast enough, I always dive straight into any of Holly’s books without any waiting.

Hooked from the start, I didn’t want to put it down – especially this time with so many delicious sounding goodies making my mouth water.
Be transported to Emerald Cove; there is a nice gentle pace, but it is full of emotion and heart. You get ample enough drama met with heart warming and tender times. You will be rooting for the best for everyone. It’s a brilliant community feeling, I love catching up with Island life and wish I could go there myself.
Great characters, well written storylines, and an inviting setting, you don’t need anything more when you want to cosy up with a fantastic read.

I hope we get to visit the Island again soon…

Opposites Attract - Camilla Isley

First law of magnetism: opposite poles attract.

Single mom Vivian has been burned by love once before, and her job as a divorce lawyer has presented enough evidence to convince her there are no good men left in New York City.

The worst offender is her new neighbour: Dr. Lucas Keller, a couple’s therapist whose piercing blue eyes and flawless dark hair are just as annoying as his bad temper.

But when Luke starts poaching Vivian’s clients by saving their marriages, she makes it her mission to force him out of the building to save her practice. But it’s Luke who gives her the perfect opportunity when he proposes an unexpected bet.

With their offices at stake, Vivian and Luke play the field of love in a fierce battle of wits that quickly turns hot and personal, especially when Vivian’s daughter gets involved. Now, taking down Luke has become more than business for Vivian. It’s become a pleasure—and soon, Vivian and Luke will realize how pointless it is to fight the laws of attraction.

My Review:

Another brilliant book from Camilla. Each one of hers I pick up I enjoy, this is another romantic, fun filled, action packed book.

We meet Vivian and Lucas who from the moment they meet just do not see eye to eye, they go out of their way to wind each other up or gain the upper hand. So, when an opportunity comes that may rid one from the other, they jump on board. Both signing up to a well-known dating agency, who will meet someone suitable first?

Cue a multitude of hilarious dates, it’s every single person’s nightmare repeatedly but this is Camilla Isley at her comedic best – I was laughing out loud at these!

I love when we have a story told from the two characters viewpoints, I think you really get to know them. I warmed to Lucas from the start but it took me a while before I liked Vivian or really understood her.

I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, the ease at which they teased and pushed the other’s buttons. Although there are so quirky, fun lighthearted moments, it does touch on some serious and sensitive issues which are very well done.

A fun, easy read that will entertain for a good few hours. Camilla Isley is an author that never disappoints.
