My Review:

I’m a long-time fan of books by Portia MacIntosh and I always look forward to the next release. I thoroughly enjoy her writing style, there is comedy, emotion, drama, and romance everything unfolds at a good pace. MacIntosh always provides a fun, easy read that will entertain. The characters in Portia’s books are always realistic, loveable characters and this time is no exception. I think Peach is brilliant, and Matt sounds like a dream! They were both strong characters but completely likeable – even when you think Matt is no good. I really liked Van, although I grew quite uncertain of her motives at points. I didn’t think I would grow to like Charles at all, I disliked him but by the end I found myself quite charmed by him. It might be interesting to see how he (and everyone) would react if all the secrets of the past had come to light There was an awful lot crammed into this story, entertaining but at times it was quite full on. A lot of characters in one place with secrets and twists, a couple of things never seemed to be resolved and a couple of characters just seemed to fade away by the end. I would have been interested to see what happened if a couple of other scenarios played out. This book has brilliant characters and fun storylines, it was highly entertaining, and I would recommend for an easy, relaxing read. My Review:


My first read by this author but definitely not my last. A cosy, uplifting tale, full of community spirit and heart.

The story is based in the wonderful sounding village of Cranbridge,  revolving around its inhabitants and the focal point - Cranbridge stores; one of those one stop shops that has everything and anything you may (or may not actually) need.

The store is past it’s best in some ways, it needs a declutter, a clean an overhaul but there is a reluctance to make changes. Something needs to change soon as they need to start making money to survive.

Amber was working in her dream job in New York. After being made redundant she decides to head to her parents via a pitstop to visit her godmother in Cranbridge. After a memorable reintroduction to Josh, her Godmothers son, can she use her creative skills to do some good?

It’s a story with ups and downs, some drama and a host of characters that you will take to your heart.

It’s well written by Alison Sherlock, it flows nicely and is a quick read. I will look forward to a return visit in the future to see what other adventures await residents of Cranbridge.

My Review:

A fun filled read that will make you laugh and keep you guessing. A lovely book that's a nice quick and easy read, a great distraction in times of worry. 


Lexie is quite the character, hit by disaster after disaster. Poor thing – everything seems to go wrong at the same time so I cannot blame her for wanting to get away from it all. Lucky her best friend happens to have a great solution for her.


Disaster seems to follow her around though and nothing she does goes smoothly; helping organise a Caribbean themed wedding sounds simple enough but not when things seem to be going wrong and it becomes very apparent someone is against the wedding taking place!


She turns detective to find out what exactly is happening and who is causing so much drama. Who does not love a little bit of mystery thrown into a feel-good story? It’s all on her to ensure this wedding takes place and she forms an unlikely partnership that is beneficial for her in more ways than one.


A lively set of characters that made me laugh out loud at times, full of lovely descriptions and a wedding theme that I was quite envious of! It is the first in a series I believe so will be quite fun to see what happens next time. A fun read!
